Starland curriculum provides a strong foundation for extensive learning. It develops critical and analytical thinking, problem solving, decision making and moral values formation. Since students learn in different ways, inclusive education is our first priority. To realize this objective, intellectual, social, physical and emotional progress must be attained with high standards through integrative learning. Such learning, including values is a unified knowledge in all subjects. By way of integration, students will experience a balanced and holistic learning. The school has designed learning programs, specifically advance and regular modules that are made to fit the genuine potential of each child to learn. At this level, the basic of geography is also introduced to instill in the minds of the learners love and appreciation of the world. Values education is also integrated in all subjects. Foreign Languages are introduced in the second semester of the school year with basic conversational drills in Nihongo and Spanish.

ELEMENTARY learner develops the fundamental skills, attitudes, and values that are essential for personal development, further enables him/her to contribute to a growing and diverse environment. A Grade 1 learner is exposed in Journalism work to develop his/her skill in writing by construction of sentences using the correct grammar, broaden their vocabularies, extend ability to think and develop communication skills and self-esteem by speaking in English at all times. At this level, the learner is also trained to write down words through dictation with the correct spelling of the words to measure retention. In Mathematics, the learner gains knowledge of the world of numbers and their functions through actual materials and mental computation involving basic operations. In Science, he/she performs simple experiments and applies the basic knowledge and concepts learned through Science Research Project (SRP) – for grades 4 to 6; moreover, the learner’s Scientific and critical abilities are enhanced through Robotics from as young as grade one level.

Key Learning Areas

    1. Journalism & Communication:
      • Sentence construction using correct grammar.
      • Vocabulary expansion and critical thinking.
      • Development of communication skills and self-esteem by speaking English at all times.
